Between past and future emerges another place – come along!
In r e t u r n, international artists explore the lingering effects of colonialism, war and displacement: they comb through archives, incorporate performative elements and examine landscapes and communities in flux. In doing so, they interweave (personal) memories with new imaginings. The exhibition invites us to discuss together: What does ‘return’ mean today? Is it a place of comfort or longing – or are we chasing after a past that may never have existed in that form?
